Emperor's Clothes

For Moses's 1st birthday, he got a traditional Korean outfit, a hanbok.  We didn't get good pictures on his birthday, so we decided to try again.

We almost got the entire costume on, minus the belt and hat.  YIPPEE!  But this was the only picture we got of him.

After the one halfway decent picture, he was ready to take the long vest off.

Then it was time for the short vest to come off.

Then he was just down to his undershirt.

At last, we could put the hat on.

But then it was time for the undershirt to come off.

Then it was time for the hat to come off, which made Moses pretty darn happy!

So yet again, we don't have any good pictures of Moses in his hanbok.

The Last Night of Hanukkah

By the last night of Hanukkah, Moses was done with the yarmulkes.  Usually, he doesn't like hats on him, but this night was different.

He wanted Daddy's yarmulke off!

And what Moses wants, he gets!

After 8 nights of opening presents, Moses was quite the professional.

However, he did't have much patience for the toy packaging.
"I want to play with my toy NOW!"

"YES!  I got it out and can play with it!"

The Fourth Night of Hanukkah

Since the Melikers were in town, we go to celebrate Hanukkah with them.

The best part for the kids was opening presents, of course.  Mandy and Sammie were nice enough to wait for Moses to open his presents first.

Sammie - "When's it our turn to open presents?"

A basketball for Moses....

some silly bands for Sammie....

and more silly bands for Mandy.

Happy Hanukkah!  We're only half done celebrating!

The Meli's are in Cali.....YIPPPEEE!!!!

About three weeks ago, the Melikers left snowy Chicago to come visit us in sunny San Diego.  Even though it wasn't that warm, we had to head to the beach.

Mandy was pretty content finding rocks on the shore.

The best line of the day.....
Mandy - "Can I take this home, PULLLLEEEASE?"

YIKES!!  Didn't think the tide would come up that far.

Here's a scene straight from Baywatch!

The sound of the ocean.....

...always puts our monkey man to sleep.

It was a GREAT time had by all!

Let's Light the Menorah......

Daddy was in Dallas for work, so it was just Moses and Mommy for the 1st night of Hanukkah.

Happy Hanukkah!

Gobble! Gobble! Turkey Time!

This Thanksgiving, the Kappy family celebrated in Reno (minus Uncle Steve and Aunt Karen, who we missed greatly).  We were excited to check out Uncle Matt and Aunt Linda's new home, hang out with Grandma Annie, and see the snow!

"I'm bundled up and ready for the snow!"

At first, Moses was a little unsteady and needed help to walk through the snow.

After a couple more steps, Moses was ready to run.

"Look at me go!"

Once we were all sufficiently cold enough, we headed into the house.  Moses was ready to play with the dogs, Andy and The Dude.

Moses was slowly learning how to be gentle, but he learned a new, not-so-gentle move.  He wanted to pet The Dude's eyes.  So it was a time-out for Moses.

"I'm really, really SORRY!  Can I get out of time-out now?!

After time-out, it was time to watch some football with Uncle Matt.

During the commercials, it was a great time to get some kisses from Grandma Annie.

The day after Thanksgiving, we headed to Lake Tahoe for some sledding.

"WHERE'S MY SLED?!?!?!"

We didn't have a sled, so we had to make do.

"WHEE!!"

After an afternoon of sledding, it was time to play with the dogs again.  This time, The Dude ran for the hills, so Moses played with Andy.

"See we're buddies!"

Happy Thanksgiving to all!  Nothing gets you more thankful than a cheesy family portrait.

Happy Birthday Maryn!

The weekend before Thanksgiving, our good friend, Maryn, turned the BIG 3!  What does any 3 year-old want?  A party at Chuck E. Cheese, so that's where we headed.

It wouldn't be a party without juice!  This was Moses's first time having juice and needless to say, he gulped it down.

Well he gulped down what didn't end up on his shirt.

After the juice, Moses was ready to get on some rides.  First stop was the carousel.

Then it was onto driving Chuck E. Cheese.

He tried chauffeuring around Barney.

But Moses didn't like the big purple dinosaur!

So he decided that off-roading would be better.

It ended with a motorcycle chase by Officer Moses.

Happy Birthday Maryn!  It was another fun night at Chuck E. Cheese!
